Shane Wolf Painter
Contemporary figurative artist, Shane Wolf, will spend an evening sharing his artistic journey, and his process of capturing the human form in a way that is both realistic and expressive. His work is a celebration of the human form and the emotions it evokes, making it both timeless and relevant.
Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Shane moved to France as a young graphic artist but was pulled by a strong desire to study the human figure and express his art in live form, and in a humanistic, relatable manner. This lead him to Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where he studied the great masters of the Italian Renaissance. After finishing his studies he moved to Paris where he began his figurative art career.
His works quickly garnered critical acclaim for powerful figurative portraits characterized by his commanding use of natural light. In a recent review, the author wrote of Shane's work:
"Movement contributes equally to his realism and imbues his creations with life. His works no longer appear to be just a simple representation, but part of a unique reality placed within the viewer’s grasp. This realism is epitomized by the fact that Shane only works from live models – an academic tradition that has become very rare amongst contemporary artists."
